Terms and Conditions - Hotel


It is impossible to have rules and regulations covering every contingency and situation and we reserve the right to update these Terms and Conditions at any time and without prior notice. Guests have the responsibility to inquire into any policy that may not be published in these Terms and Conditions. The absence of a particular policy from these published Terms and Conditions is not grounds for the granting of an exception.


LAWS AND REFUSAL OF SERVICE

Guests agree to abide by all federal, state and local laws during their stay.


Battle Lake Inn is privately owned and operated. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason(s) that does not violate federal or state laws.


Battle Lake Inn has a zero-tolerance policy in which we will refuse to admit or refuse service or accommodation in our hotel or may remove a person, without refund, who refuses to abide by the reasonable standards and policies established in these Terms and Conditions.


CHECK-IN / CHECK-OUT

Check-in at 4:00PM

You can check-in any time from 4:00PM local time. Our rooms feature keyless locks that are operated by unique 4-digit access codes. Your access code will be emailed and texted to you the day before and on the day of arrival.


Check-out at 11:00AM

You can check-out any time up until 11:00AM local time. Later check-out times may be requested although we may not always be able to accommodate late changes and will depend on availability and on how busy we are.


At check-out time please ensure your door is fully closed and latched and then press any key to lock.


Please note that a more detailed inspection of the room is usually made after the check-out time and we reserve the right to make charges for any damages or breakages found before the room is occupied again.


Please be aware that bed linen and towels should be placed where they were originally found. The bed linen and towels should remain in the room.


EARLY CHECK-IN OR LATE CHECK-OUT

We will do our best to accommodate early or late check-in or check-out times. These changes will be subject to a small fee.


If you are already staying with us and you would like to stay longer, please let us know at least 24 hours before your check-out date. We will do our best to accommodate your new plans and this can include relocating you to a similar room should this be necessary.

 

BUSINESS HOURS

Please note our lobby is not staffed. You do not need to contact us for check-in or check-out. If you need any assistance during your stay, please text us. For in-house guests there is an emergency phone number that you should call if you have an emergency.


CANCELLATION POLICY

Reservations need to be cancelled 48 hours prior to check-in in order to receive a refund. However, if your plans change, please let us know as soon as you can so we can still try to sell the room. Cancellations can be made by either emailing stay@battlelakeinn.com or texting (218) 309-4640 or calling (218) 862-2500 and leaving a voicemail.


Reservation made within 48 hours of checking-in are non-refundable.



MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY

Room occupancy requirements are based on fire code/fire safety restrictions. Maximum occupancy ratings are noted in the rooms and on our website. If you exceed the maximum number of guests allowed, you will be asked to rent another guest room for proper accommodations or vacate the hotel.


PAYMENT

All reservations and registration must be guaranteed with a valid major credit card. We accept Visa, Master Card, American Express, and Discover Card. Cash and checks are not accepted.


RATES

All rates are quoted in United States currency, exclusive of tax. Rates may increase without notice. Rates as advertised on our website or any other website or promotional material are subject to change at any time and may increase or decrease at the hotel’s discretion.


GUEST REGISTRATION

We require valid contact information from the guest making the reservations including first and last name, residential address, billing zip code, email address and phone number.


SPECIAL REQUESTS

We will make every effort to honor special requests upon your arrival. All special requests are noted on reservations, and we will do our best to accommodate.  However, the availability of these items cannot be guaranteed in advance.


RESERVATION POLICY

Your reservation is guaranteed until the day of arrival. After that time, it will no longer be guaranteed, and the room may be reassigned. We will charge your credit card for the first night’s rental charge (“Pre-Payment Deposit”) after we have confirmed your reservation.


The hotel has the right to cancel your reservation if we do not receive the Pre-Payment Deposit. We will send you a cancellation confirmation via email immediately after cancelling your booking.


STANDARD BOOKING PRICE

The standard booking price includes the following:

·       All taxes

·       Utilities (water and electricity)

·       Internet and Cable TV usage

·       Towels and bed linen

·       Cleaning before and after your stay

·       All room amenities and facilities as mentioned on our website pages and in our correspondence


When you make a reservation, you are booking a room type (not a specific room). Each room type includes similar rooms of similar size and amenities, however, interior design can be different. 


Reservations can only be taken and confirmed by making an advance payment equal to the first night’s rental amount. This can be paid via credit cards only. We accept bookings via our website online at www.battlelakeinn.com or via text at (218) 309-4640, via phone at (218) 862-2500 or email at stay@battlelakeinn.com.


Please note, your booking has not been made or verified until you receive a confirmation email from stay@battlelakeinn.com.


COOKING POLICY

The safety of our guests, staff, and this facility is extremely important to us. Except for the coffee maker, microwave and refrigerator units that the hotel provides, preparation of food in guest rooms by any type of cooking appliances is prohibited. A minimum fee of $250.00 will be charged for cooking in a room, including, but not limited to hot plates, toaster ovens, water heaters, rice cookers, combustible, open flame, barbecue grill, burners, heating appliance, or any other item intended for cooking. Open fires, flames or cooking grills, either charcoal or gas, and fireworks are not allowed anywhere on hotel property.


ROOM POLICY

Property damages or missing items will be charged to your credit card at market value. Pre-existing damages or room issues must be reported to the management immediately after check-in to avoid responsibility and potential charges.


Please do not to move the furniture, fixtures, or equipment in the guest rooms from their fixed places.


We are unable to receive packages and special deliveries at the property for guests.


Gambling, contraband, prostitution, weapons, explosives, flammable objects, poisons, illicit drugs and pungent food are strictly prohibited on hotel premises.


LOST & FOUND POLICY

Battle Lake Inn assumes no liability for lost, misplaced, stolen, or damaged valuables or belongings. If you discover that you have left behind something of value to you, please call us immediately and we will try to assist you in locating your lost item.


Any item, except for perishable items, left behind by our guests and found after departure by Housekeeping will be collected and kept in a secure location for collection by the owner. Reasonable effort will be made to notify the guest that an item has found. If we are unable to contact the guest the unclaimed item(s) are thrown away, given to local organizations, or disposed of accordingly. Perishable items and miscellaneous toiletries are discarded. 


We would be happy to return your lost item(s) to you by United States Postal Service. Your credit card will be charged packaging and postage, plus a $10.00 handling fee. A separate receipt will be emailed to you. Battle Lake Inn is not responsible for any item lost or misdirected during shipment by the United States Postal Service.


GUEST BELONGINGS

Guests are requested to lock the door on their rooms when going out or going to bed. Management will not in any way whatsoever be responsible for any loss or damage to the guest's belongings or any other property for any cause whatsoever including theft.


ALCOHOL POLICY

Registered guests of legal age who choose to bring their own alcoholic beverages must consume those in their room. Alcohol is not allowed in public areas.


IN CASE OF EMERGENCY OR FIRE

Please evacuate your room in the event of a fire or other emergency and then call the emergency phone number.

The hotel is fully equipped with smoke detectors and fire extinguishers are located in the outside hallway.


INFESTATION

The cleanliness of our rooms is extremely important to our guests. If you bring any infestation into your room or onto our hotel premises, we may charge you for any and all costs and expenses, including immediate or urgent response requirements and loss of room revenue, that we deem necessary to address the infestation.


NO IN-ROOM PARTIES

Battle Lake Inn enforces a No In-Room Party Policy to ensure we can always protect the hotel and our guests. No parties, loud disturbances and/or noise-nuisance are allowed or tolerated on these premises. In the event of a disturbance, one polite request (warning) will be given to reduce the noise. If our request is not followed, the guest will be asked to leave the hotel without refund. 


WI-FI POLICY

Guests are provided with free, but limited access to the WI-FI primarily for light internet use. We do not guarantee Wi-Fi access at every site. Our system is designed to support email, messaging, and similar communication activities.


Your access to the WI-FI is completely at the discretion of management and your access may be blocked, suspended, or terminated at any time for any reason including, but not limited to, violation of these Terms and Conditions, actions that may lead to liability for the Motel, disruption of access to other users or networks, or violation of applicable laws or regulations.


No network communication should be considered private or protected. All communication over the Motel’s network is subject to monitoring. The Motel reserves the right to reduce throughput or access as need be. We cannot accept any responsibility for any injury or loss that results from inaccurate, unsuitable, offensive, or illegal Internet communications.


GUEST SAFETY POLICY

As part of our commitment to guest safety, employees will not disclose the identity, room number or presence of a guest to anyone other than appropriate law enforcement. This includes the taking of or delivery of messages. It is the responsibility of guests to communicate their presence and room number to any person they wish to receive visits from.


ROOM CLEANING POLICY

Room refreshes will not be offered during stays. Should you need fresh towels or linen, please send us a text message the evening before so we can arrange with our housekeeping staff.


FIREARM POLICY

Any guest or visitor who is in possession of a firearm on hotel premises is personally responsible for abiding by all applicable federal, state and local laws with respect to firearms. Subject to the following restrictions, guests of Battle Lake Inn who are lawfully permitted to possess a firearm may bring such firearm onto hotel premises, provided that the presence of the firearm on hotel premises: is for storage purposes only; the firearm is and remains at all times unloaded; the firearm is and remains secured in a locked, hard-sided firearm container, provided by the guest, while transported to or from the guest room and while stored therein; and the firearm remains securely safeguarded at all times in a locked guest room or locked personal vehicle, except when transporting the firearm to or from a guest room.


Guests who fail to abide by this policy may be asked to leave the hotel premises, without refund. The hotel premises are private property, and our firearms policy applies to: (i) all firearms, regardless of whether the firearm is a handgun or a long-barreled gun; and (ii) all guests and visitors, even those possessing a valid license or permit to carry a firearm.


The only exception to the restrictions described in this firearms policy statement is for law enforcement officers and designated military personnel, who are on-duty and required to carry firearms in the performance of their duties.


SMOKING POLICY

Battle Lake Inn is a non-smoking property. This applies to both traditional smoking methods and all electronic delivery systems, including vapes, vaporizers, vape pens, hookah pens, electronic cigarettes (e-cigarettes or e-cigs), e-pipes, and any variations of the foregoing regardless of the product’s name. Any smoking in the rooms or strong lingering smoking scents in rooms will result in a $250 room cleaning fee.


Candle, incense, essential oils (diffusing, vaporizing, etc.) are prohibited. These items and activities will be treated as smoking, a fine accessed, and the guest may be evicted with no refunds.


PARKING POLICY

Parking is available right in front of your room and is free for registered guests. All vehicles are parked at the risk of the owner. Battle Lake Inn shall not assume liability or responsibility for any vehicle, occupants, or contents while operated or parked on the hotel property. If a vehicle is left in the hotel parking lot after the guest has departed without the written consent of the hotel, the hotel reserves the right to have the vehicle towed at the owner’s expense. No vehicle repairs on hotel premises.


MINIMUM AGE POLICY

All guests must be 21 years or older to confirm guest room accommodations at Battle Lake Inn.


ADA POLICY

Battle Lake Inn is compliant with the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA). We offer an accessible room within the hotel.


PET POLICY

Dogs are welcome but we limit the number of dogs to two (2) and we reserve the right to limit the size and breed of pets. No other pets or animals allowed.

There is a pet charge of $15 per night. The 'Standard Rate + Pet Fee' rate type should be selected at the time of booking. Failure to select the appropriate rate will result in a $250.00 charge to the room. Dogs are only welcome in designated pet friendly rooms.

If we determine your pet to be aggressive or disruptive you will be required to board your pet at another location.Pet owners are always responsible for their pets, including injury, destruction, and annoyances to other guests. We shall not be liable for any loss, damage, or injury of any kind whatsoever caused by guests’ pets. Each pet must be licensed and vaccinated in accordance with local law. Vaccination records must be available upon request.

All pets must be house trained. Guests agree to pay for any damage due to chewing, scratching or soiling.Guests agree not to leave their pet unattended at any time on the grounds or in their room. Guests agree to keep their pet on a leash when not in a room.

Please clean up immediately after your pet by discarding solid bio waste in the pet waste station or the outdoor garbage dumpster provided. 



QUIET HOURS POLICY

Quiet Hours are from 10:00 pm through 8:00 am daily. Please ensure that speakers, radios, televisions, or any other devices do not emit sound beyond your space during Quiet Hours.


Outside of the above listed quiet hours, unnecessarily loud, intrusive, or disruptive noise is prohibited. Please be courteous to the other guests.


DAMAGE AND/OR THEFT OF HOTEL PROPERTY

You are liable for any damage howsoever caused (whether by the deliberate, negligent, or reckless act) to the room (s), hotel’s premises or property caused by you or any person in your party whether or not staying at the hotel during your stay. Battle Lake Inn reserves the right to retain your credit card and/or debit card details as presented at registration and charge or debit the credit /debit card such amounts as it shall in its sole discretion deem necessary to compensate or make good the cost or expenses incurred or suffered by Battle Lake Inn as a result of the aforesaid. Should this damage come to light after the guest has departed, we reserve the right and you hereby authorize us to charge your credit or debit card for any damage incurred to your room or the Hotel property during your stay, including and without limitation for all property damage, missing or damaged items, smoking fee, cleaning fee, guest compensation, etc. We will make every effort to rectify any damage internally prior to contracting specialist to make the repairs, and therefore will make every effort to keep any costs that the guest would incur to a minimum.


DAMAGE DISCOVERED AFTER CHECK-OUT

Guest Rooms found with waste strewn around, in complete disorder, and/or “trashed” will be subject to maintenance deep cleaning fee, administration fee and/or third party fees.

 

DAMAGE TO ROOM

Damage to rooms, fixtures, furnishing and equipment including the removal of electronic equipment, towels, art work, etc. will be charged the full and new replacement value plus any shipping and handling charges. Any damage to hotel property, whether accidental or willful, is the responsibility of the registered guest for each particular room. Any costs associated with repairs and/or replacement will be charged to the credit card of the registered guest. In extreme cases, criminal charges will be pursued.

 

DAMAGE TO MATTRESSES AND BEDDING

Damage to mattresses and linen including; towels, mattress pads, sheets, bedspreads, blankets resulting from the use of body oils, make-up, shoe-polish, etc. will result in a charge for the special cleaning, repair or replacement of the damaged article.

 

DAMAGE OR TAMPERING WITH FIRE DETECTION SYSTEMS/FIRE-FIGHTING EQUIPMENT

Battle Lake Inn reserve the right to take action against any guest or visitor found to have tampered or interfered with any detection equipment throughout the hotel, including detector heads in public areas, guest rooms, break glass points and fire extinguishers. Guests or visitors found to have tampered with any fire detection or fire-fighting equipment will be charged with any costs incurred by the hotel due to their actions and will be evicted from the hotel. Depending on the severity of the guest actions, law enforcement may become involved at the hotel’s discretion. Should the fact that fire-fighting or detection equipment had been tampered with come to light after the guest has departed, we reserve the right and you hereby authorize us to charge your credit or debit card for any damage incurred to your room or the Hotel property during your stay, including and without limitation for all property damage, missing or damaged items, smoking fee, cleaning fee, guest compensation, etc.



Terms and Conditions - RV Park


LAWS AND REFUSAL OF SERVICE

STORM SHELTERS AND EVACUATION

There is a small basement area on the west side of Battle Lake Inn that is available in the case of threatening weather. Enter through the exterior door labeled Room 113.


CONTACT DETAILS

Guests need to provide current and accurate contact details (see section in Appendix 1) for all seasonal residents of the Park. Guests should also include an Emergency Contact that is not resident in the Park.  Guests need to update these details as and when they change.


VEHICLE AND RV POLICY

All RVs and vehicles must be kept clean, in running condition, exterior paint in good condition, and be in overall presentable condition. RVs with damage to the exterior unit, including but not limited to broken windows, dents, rust, exposed wiring, missing panels, repairs using tape, tarps, or other unsightly appearance are not permitted.


All vehicles, RV, trailer, and boats must have current License Plate and Tabs. You must be able to provide proof of Registration and Insurance on your RV if requested, and both must always be current.


Your RV and all vehicles, trailers, or boats must fit in one space. One vehicle, other than the RV, per space is allowed.


RVs must be self-contained meaning sewer, water and electric are in good working order and the RV is equipped for living (sleeping & bathing).

You must be able to drive your RV in and be able to move it at any time upon management request.


No vehicles are allowed on the grass areas.


No vehicle maintenance may be performed onsite.


RV SITES POLICY

Nothing but outdoor patio furniture in good condition and a BBQ are allowed on your site. Indoor furniture sofas, chairs, tables, pillows, and blankets are prohibited to be placed outside.


Temporary outdoor games are allowed but must be removed each night. We request you not leave chairs, games, bicycles, and other personal property on lawns that will impede lawn maintenance.


All personal property must remain within your site and there shall be no encroaching on any adjacent site. Please do not park on or occupy any site that is not registered to you.


The construction or installation of permanent or semi-permanent structures (including storage sheds and patio decks) at your site is prohibited unless an exception is approved by management.


No free-standing awnings or carport covers are allowed. Awnings attached and part of the RV’s body are the only awnings that are allowed.

Guests are required to maintain their space and RV in a clean, attractive, and well-kept manner. Unsafe, cluttered, or unsightly RV sites will not be tolerated. Site cleanliness is required for aesthetic, sanitary, and safety purposes.


Storage of anything beneath, behind or on the outside of the RV is prohibited.


Rope, wire, or string may not be attached to trees, vegetation, poles, or Park property at any time. Clotheslines are not permitted.


Electrical appliances outside of the RV are not allowed. This includes, but is not limited to, washers and dryers, refrigerators, freezers, hot plates, cooktops, ranges and ovens, or microwaves.


No tents or outdoor camping is allowed.


Management reserves the right at any time to ask guests to remove any item on site or to remove or disassemble anything built or erected on site.


RV LODGE POLICY

The RV Lodge contains a full bathroom, fish cleaning room, laundry (coin operated) and gathering space. This is a shared space with other people in the Park as well as guests of Battle Lake Inn. Please leave these facilities in a clean condition after use. 


Please comply with the posted signs and rules within the lodge and report any non-operational or unsanitary conditions to management immediately.


The RV Lodge is closed between 11:00 pm and 6:00 am each day. Please lock the RV Lodge when you leave.


PET POLICY

Pets are welcome but we reserve the right to limit the number, size and types of pets allowed in the Park. If we determine your pet to be aggressive or disruptive you will be required to board your pet at another location.


Pet owners are always responsible for their pets, including injury, destruction, and annoyances to other guests. We shall not be liable for any loss, damage, or injury of any kind whatsoever caused by guests’ pets.


Each pet must be licensed and vaccinated in accordance with local law. Vaccination records must be available upon request.


Pets must be housed inside your RV and must be kept on a leash at any time they are outside the RV. Pets cannot be left unattended outside the guests’ RV at any time.


Please clean up immediately after your pet by discarding solid bio waste in the outdoor garbage dumpster provided.


CAMPFIRE POLICY

Campfires are only permitted in the fire ring to the North of the RV Park. All campfires must be extinguished before leaving the site or going to bed. Campfires are prohibited during wind conditions which would result in smoke impacting our neighbors.


No fireworks are allowed.


BEHAVIOR AND CONDUCT POLICY

Conduct which threatens, harasses or intimidates others is prohibited. Disorderly conduct, drunkenness, illicit drugs, obscene language, or rowdy behavior are not allowed.


QUIET HOURS POLICY

Quiet Hours are from 10:00 pm through 8:00 am daily and must be observed by everyone within the Park. Please ensure that speakers, radios, televisions, or any other devices do not emit sound beyond your space during Quiet Hours.

Smoking is prohibited inside, or within 20 feet from, any Park building on the property. This applies to both traditional smoking methods and all electronic delivery systems, including vapes, vaporizers, vape pens, hookah pens, electronic cigarettes (e-cigarettes or e-cigs), e-pipes, and any variations of the foregoing regardless of the product’s name.


The littering of smoking materials (i.e.-cigarette butts, ashes, cigars, etc.) in or around the Park is prohibited. Please extinguish and properly dispose of all smoking materials in the proper receptacles.


SEWER AND SCEPTIC POLICY

Do not put any objects down the sewer lines. Bodily waste and RV approved biodegradable toilet paper are the only things that should be put through and dumped into the sewer system. Any other items including but not limited to: Feminine products, hay, rags, ashes, clothes, diapers or wipes, foreign objects, grease, oil, or other improper items shall not be placed into the sewer system.


The cost of repairing clogs or clearing stoppages and all other damages caused by such improper items put into the sewer system shall be the sole responsibility of the guest.


The Park is only responsible for sewer problems associated with tree roots, normal pipe wear, and tear or the normal deterioration of pipes.

Sewer connections must be by rigid pipe and must be equipped with proper fittings at both ends (free of cracks or tears). All drain connectors must have a slope of ½” per foot from the RV to the park drain system. No drippings and/or smells are acceptable.


The spilling, dumping, or other discharge onto the ground of any water or waste, including but not limited to human or animal, is prohibited.


UTILITIES POLICY

Guests are responsible for determining whether their RV is compatible with the Park’s utilities and pedestals for electricity, water and sewer. Under no circumstances may any Guest touch, alter or tamper with the Park’s utilities and pedestals for electricity, water and sewer other than to hook-up.


We do not allow ‘pig tail’ or ‘dog bone’ adapters from 50 amp to a 30 amp. You must plug in to appropriate receptacle that matches the hard wiring of your RV.


Guests should undertake all necessary actions to conserve water and prevent waste, including repairing any leaky fixtures, hoses, etc.


GARBAGE POLICY

No littering is permitted in the Park, this includes your site and common areas. An outdoor garbage dumpster is provided, and garbage receptacles are available within the RV Lodge.


Please place all your everyday trash in the dumpsters and close lids after use. Items prohibited from being put in or around the dumpster include Furniture, appliances, electronics, wood, concrete, any building materials, batteries, BBQs, carpeting or rugs, metals, any hazardous, combustible, or flammable materials or substances.


Please break down cardboard boxes prior to placing in the dumpster. Where possible please use the recycling facilities located next to Larry’s Foods.


Bringing trash from outside the Park to dump into the Park’s bins is prohibited.


WI-FI POLICY

OTHER PROHIBITED ACTS

No weapons shall be discharged on the grounds and all weapons shall be kept in compliance with all applicable federal, state and local laws.

Riding any engine-powered vehicle in the Park for recreation is not permitted.


No business or commercial activity of any nature shall be conducted within the park or at your site.


No persons shall engage in any criminal or drug-related activity in or near the Park.


No Sub-Leasing is allowed.


Damage to park property (including but not limited to): Restrooms, utilities, landscaping, vehicles, or signage is strictly prohibited. Guests will be held responsible for the repair of any damages made by them and will be prosecuted by law.
